soup & coffee for your plants

These ideas sound like a good way to repurpose what would normally get thorwn out.

The next time you boil or steam some of your veggies, don't waste that water by pouring it down the drain, wait for it to cool and then you can use it to water your potted plants. See what this "vegetable soup" can do.

I love drinking my coffee in the morning and now you can use those coffee and tea grounds to help out your plants.  The grounds acidify the soil. Your azaleas, rhododendrons, camellias, gardenias and blueberries should love this. Just sprkinle 1/4 inch about once a month to keep the pH of the soil on the acidic side. If you're not a coffee drinker, stop by one of your local coffee shops and see if they recycle their grounds.
